Get in My House – Stuff I Want from Target

April 17, 2017 / Cheryl's House, Decor, Design / Cheryl Noble

I think Target’s home decor products look amazing online. So many bloggers highlight Target’s seasonal collections and make me want to buy everything. I usually do buy something, but when I see the products in real life they generally seem cheap and flimsy to me. (Sorry Andria, I know I just ruined any chance of us getting a sponsorship from Target…)

However, because I’ve been in an actual Target store way too many times over the past couple weeks in preparation for Easter, I’ve seen a lot of the spring collections in person. A number of items stood out to me not only design-wise, but also appear really high quality and seem like they would last for a long time. So, I thought I’d put together my completely unsponsored “Top 10 List of Target’s Non-Cheap Looking in Real Life Spring Home Collection Items.” All of which I want in my house. Right. Now.

Bonus! Target is currently having a home sale, so many of these items are discounted and may even have a code for an additional amount off.

I can’t stop thinking about the lidded vases in various sizes on the mantel in the styled picture above. I have no idea what I would put in those vases, but they are really good quality in person. They come in various colors and sizes. I would either go with the earthy tones shown here, or a blue glaze, depending on which room I would use them in. Maybe one of each!

I don’t need another vase, but my friend has this fun vase I’ve been admiring for a while. It would look good on a bookshelf, mantel, or coffee table. With or without flowers in it. This one also comes in difference colors and sizes.

I actually had this planter in my cart the other day, but put it back when I decided I didn’t need it. Well, I might need it now. It is well made and heavy, and could be used inside or out.

I have a thing for anything alpaca because my aunt owns an alpaca farm in rural Missouri. The bookends above aren’t technically alpacas, but llamas. To me, though, those bookends are a dead ringer for a pair of alpacas. Hopefully Aunt Ann won’t be too ashamed that I can’t tell the two species apart other than by their size…

I have a hard time resisting anything described as chambray, including that oversized throw pillow. I want to add more blue to the sitting/music room off the kitchen, and this pillow might just be the perfect does of color for our sectional.

I’ve been looking for a cute little rug I can put in the boys’ bathroom, and this one fit the bill. The room already has some red artwork, and I thought the rug’s muted mix of primary colors would go well with that. I already bought this one and it looks great.

We currently have miss-matched lamps in our bedroom and I’d like things to be a bit more balanced. I’ve been looking for some slender reading lamps that won’t obscure the artwork above our nightstands, and the ones in the picture above might be the ticket. We already have the same style lamp, but in white, and it is high quality and sturdy.

Now that the weather is starting to warm up, this lightweight blanket is perfect for covering up with on the couch. It’s almost like a Turkish towel, but a tad thicker and softer. The material is also tightly woven. Many of Target’s (and other companies’) throw blankets have a looser weave, which I’ve found are easy to snag and start to look shabby after a short time. I’d like to have this one in our living room for the summer.

This serving bowl was also been in my cart and put back on the shelf. I wanted to use it for our Easter party yesterday, but decided I already have enough serving bowls. This one is big, so would be perfect for dinner rolls or a huge salad. It might find its way back into my cart again soon…

I want to warm up the color palate in the living room and I really like the simplicity of the striped pillow above. I think it would look great on our charcoal couches. (You can also see a few versions of the colorful vase I listed above.)

There you have it, folks! Anything you’ve found at Target recently that’s made it into your home? Let me know in the comments below.

Yay! I feel the same way about Target — it looks amazing on the website, but the quality can be hit or miss! Thanks for all these recommendations. I recently took a chance on an 85% wool rug and ended up loving the quality, so perhaps things are improving in that regard?

I know! I was trying to find your rug on the Target site. Can you share the link? I think others would be interested in a high quality, inexpensive rug like yours. Color coordinated baby pony dog not included. 😉
