Hi! Oh my goodness, it’s been so long since I’ve posted on here, but I wanted to show you a quick little project that I wrapped up last week. I had the opportunity to style some shelves and a coffee table for a friend. She and her husband had some amazing built-ins installed around the fireplace and she really wanted to show them off a bit better. This was a quick, easy update that totaled around $200. I used most of her current pieces and added in other accessories from At Home, Target and Goodwill.
This is the before picture of the entire wall.
Here are some close-ups of each shelving unit

This makes such a BIG difference in the room and how cozy it feels! I tried to use a cohesive color palette for each unit. The left is more of a cool gray with greens and blues, and the right side has warmer tones with wood accents and soft aqua-green plants.
I also did a quick coffee table vignette that couldn’t have been easier! Items on this table were from At Home and Goodwill.
If you have a space that needs to be filled in, here are some tips.
- Get some books from the Goodwill!! They’re super cheap and all you need to do is take the jackets off and turn them aroud so that the pages show. You can always match the covers for a more coordinated look if you want the binding to show.
- Faux plants. Grab some small faux plants. They usually look real and they’re a small investment. Usually $5-7 a piece.
- Add texture with natural elements like driftwood or pinecones or even shells.
- Incorporate some light with lanterns.
Because it’s been so long since I’ve posted, I’d love to hear from you in the comments! Let me know that you’re still following and I’ll be sure to post more often, I promise!
XOXO
