Inexpensive Ways To Style Your Kitchen

April 25, 2017 / Andria's House, Decor / Andria

I’m always looking for ways to style my house without spending a ton of money.  The kitchen is one of those places that you can really save some cash while you decorate.  A quick trip to the grocery or around your backyard can open up a lot of possibilities!

Fruit

I always have a ton of fruit in the house because my kids devour it…especially those clementines!

I love the texture that a pineapple adds.  The more spiky leaves on top, the better!

I found this giant clam shell at the Goodwill for $5.  Isn’t it cool?! Add our weekly bag of apples and I’m done!

Cutting Boards

I’ve noticed a new trend in kitchen decor from some of my decor books.  Cutting boards.  Everybody has them, why not use them to style your space.  I have a couple of small, cute ones that I propped up against my back splash.  Easy enough!

Sparkling Water

Yes, you can use some sparkling water to dress up your space.  It adds a nice pop of color, it’s cheap and it makes me feel fancy!

I do squirt some MIO in it.  Shhh!  That makes me a little less fancy.

Leafy Branches

I was trimming our bushes yesterday and had all of this leftover yard debris.  Yes, I am styling my kitchen with yard debris!  I cut a few branches from our boxwood bushes and put them in a vase with water…viola!

I plan to find some larger branches in the woods behind our house to use on our dining room table.  Something a little like this.

Here are some pics of the kitchen after I’ve styled it.

I also added a put a bunch of mint next to the sink for some extra greenery.  I just trim the ends and place the herbs in some fresh water.  You can do this with any herb that you regularly buy.  I usually have cilantro or parsley hanging around, so I’ll probably have them on the counter at some point too.  The nice thing about styling your kitchen from the outdoors or the grocery store is that your items are constantly changing.  One week you may have green apples, the next you may have some red grapes.

What fun things to do you use to style your kitchen?  I’d love to hear about it!

I love keeping Pelegrino on hand in my china cabinet. It add some color to my collection of white dishes and I always have something nice on hand to serve guests who don’t drink alcohol or when I just want to show I’m putting in some effort beyond serving them tap water!

That’s a good point about having it on hand for guests! Thanks!
